Dear youth & young adult in Greater New York:
To live and to minister in New York City and its surroundings, one of the biggest, most cosmopolitan, and sophisticated, metropolitan areas on this earth, is a task for champions. God knew what He was doing when, on His will, he placed you here; God needs us here in Greater New York. With over 21 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area, almost 200 languages and dialects spoken, 36 percent of the population born outside of the United States, this area exerts worldwide powerful influence in commerce, finances, culture, politics, and entertainment. We live in a global area, with great influence over the rest of the world. God placed us here at this defining period of time in the history of this earth because He believes in us.
This is the reason why we, as youth and young adults, and as a church in general cannot afford to be an island in this global territory; neither can we afford to live inside the walls of our homes and churches without venturing to obey Jesus great commission “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:19). There has never been time more relevant than this time, which requires of us, youth and young adults, and our church in general, to be the Bridge that connects.
God is calling you and me to “Be the Bridge” that connects God with our global New York Metro Area, the Bridge that connects generations, races, languages, nationalities within our church; the Bridge that connects communities, and those who don’t believe or accept Jesus with Christ and His Church.
I can assure you that we can be “Be the Bridge” if we LOVE, PRAY, STUDY, & WITNESS. These are the initiatives that our God has placed before us in 2009. If by the grace of God, you commit yourself to living out these initiatives, your life will change, our churches will be transformed, unity will be experienced, and our global area will be impacted with power and reached for Jesus.
Be the Bridge…Love, Pray, Study, & Witness!!!
