We are shocked and crushed with the news of the tragic loss of life caused by the recent 7.0 earthquake in Haiti. Our prayers cry out with heart felt pain for the families who are missing loved ones. As we see Satan’s tragic devastation we look forward to the soon coming of Christ. Then catastrophes like this will never occur again. Our loved ones in Haiti who have lost their lives will be reunited with us again.
We are declaring a day of prayer for Haiti in all of our churches this Sabbath, January 16, 2010. In addition we are requesting that each church collects a special offering this Sabbath, January 16, 2010. An offering for this cause may be collected the following Sabbath in case it cannot be done on January 16.
We met with a special Haiti Disaster Planning Committee to plan our response. Our effort is to send a team of three experts to Haiti this weekend to establish communications and assist in enabling the Church to function there for the relief effort.
