About THERISEN

For years, many of our college campuses have been producing some versions of a Passion Play. The Passion Play, is an epic portrayal of Jesus’ final days on earth. It capture some aspects of His ministry, but the focus of the presentation will be on the betrayal, the Garden of Gethsemane experience, Pilate’s Judgment Hall encounter, the horrific crucifixion, and ultimately, the glorious resurrection.

The portrayal will take us around the Berkshire Camp grounds. We will start at the Berkshire pool with the baptism of Jesus and end with the resurrection inside the auditorium.  As we journey, the audience will be weaved into the drama, whether as observers at Jesus’ baptism, traders in the market place or witnesses at the crucifixion. The experience involves the audience and it will be as real for the professional actors as it is for the audience.

We hope those of you who come to witness this epic presentation will not only be drawn to the drama or the poetic display of local talents, but you will seek to receive a renewed sense of hope because of the significance of the sacrifice to us today. We hope you will see Christ’s sacrifice from a totally different perspective, as we emphasize not so much that he suffered, though He did; not so much that He died, though He did; but the fact that He is risen and through His resurrection we have hope.
