Drum Corp
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
Here are five ways to see if you measure up to what it takes:
Be dedicated to your craft.
Always have the eagerness to learn and help teach others who aren’t picking it up as fast and being on time for scheduled practices.
Potential vs. Skill
Being in a drum corp, you are a team and you have to keep in mind that you are only as good as your weakest link.
Acknowledging you will make mistakes.
Understanding that mistakes will happen and not letting them compound themselves into more mistakes is critical to your mental health in drumming.
Be confident.
Your body language speaks volumes about how you feel, so stand up straight, make eye contact, and go for it without fear.
Be Positive.
Your attitude is just as important, if not more so, than your playing ability. Be the kind of person other people want to be around for an entire practice and witness playing. Remember, drumming is a way we minister!
